The Old Barracks Museum in Trenton, originally built in 1758 to house troops during the French and Indian War, is best remembered for its role in the 1776 and 1777 Battles of Trenton during the Revolutionary War.

Note: Museum is under major renovation. However, I was told that most of the current programs in May are being held at 225 W. State St. You can check with the guards at the 205 location. There is someone there to direct guests.
This is part of a lecture series. World famous researchers in the fields of paleontology, paleo-artistry, and archeology will deliver scholarly, yet family-friendly lectures in the NJSM's Auditorium.
Following each lecture, the public will have the opportunity to ask questions and meet the featured lecturer. These lectures are free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Site: Museum Summer Academy 2008. Call 609-292-6310 weekdays from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. as the museum is under renovation so you can get the exact location of these classes.
Technology for Everyone!
The Academy will feature scientific discoveries and the joy of engineering solutions by young people ages six thru twelve. Instruction will be provided by highly-qualified science teachers, and supplemented by field trips to pertinent sites. The children will receive a total museum experience with related fun-filled activities in the arts.
A different emphasis will be featured during each of the five weeks. All of the Museum resources in collections, exhibitions, scientists, and teachers will be participating in order to provide a comprehensive educational experience.
Additional learning hours are available at $15. per day per child. Enrollments can be for any combination of weeks at $175. per week per child. Registrants may apply for scholarships.

Are you ready to get your hands dirty and discover a piece of history! Join staff from Fonthill Museum and the Mill Brook Society in an archaeological workshop. Learn from experienced archaeologists as you screen, clean, and catalog artifacts at the Moland House site in Warwick (served as George Washington's headquarters in August, 1777). This is a unique opportunity for teenagers and adults to experience archaeology first hand.
